Ed Walker
Ed Walker is a highly acclaimed musician from Saltcoats, Scotland and released “The Arran Suite” in 2007. This exquisite collection was inspired by the mysterious and beautiful Isle of Arran which lies just off the west coast of Scotland (opposite Saltcoats).
Ed’s beautiful melodies and passion for the guitar lend themselves perfectly to the unique and magical atmosphere of Arran.

The music composed for the “Betsy Miller” CD is Ed’s tribute to Saltcoats’ Queen of the Sea, Captain Betsy Miller and is inspired by this exceptional woman who triumphed over adversity to become the first female ever, to be registered as a ships captain. The album is a collaborative project between Ed and Poet Linda Harnett who narrates fragments of Betsys life in verse.
Inspired by Eds' hauntingly beautiful sounds and a love for the rugged west coast of her native Scotland, Linda was intrigued by the life and times of Betsy and this developed into a joint mission to elevate Betsy Miller to her rightful place in the history of Scotland.
